New Creative Memories Items

Cards for St. Jude's

I tried to post this at midnight last night but couldn't get it to post...probably because I should have been in bed and not on-line :).  

I started making cards for kiddos at St. Jude's Hospital yesterday.  One of the blogs I follow put out a challenge to get 5,000 cards made for sick kids, to help bring a little sunshine into their life this summer!  But I was new to the blog and never really thought about joining in the challenge until yesterday when I saw a St. Jude's commercial on t.v.  There was  a beautiful little girl with only strands of her hair left due to chemo, and my heart ached for her.  I thought if I could bring a smile to her face (or other children like her) it would be the least I could do!  So I am in!  I started the first four cards and they are almost complete...I just have to figure out how to finish in the inside!  I will post pics later today!

Cricut Fun

I have been playing with my new Cricut today and am really enjoying myself!  It made me realize however, that I do not have enough paper at all!  I only have a few colors of cardstock and most of them are 81/2 x 11 instead of 12 x 12.  Makes it hard to create much when the color choice is so limited!  I am going to order some from Creative Memories though, so that will help!  If you need anything from CM, head on over to my website and take a look around!

Back to Reality

Well we are back home from vacation and will be back to work in the morning!  Not sure that I am ready but I will get in gear soon :)  I found a really great deal on a paper pack at Tuesday Morning in Branson and I googled and think there is one not far from my house so I am excited to go check it out!  I got my new Cricut and four new cartridges and played around just a little bit today...I really like it!  I have a lot of ideas for layouts so hopefully I can start executing them and get some pages finished!!!  Ready to share my albums with people :)

Trip to the scrapbook store in Branson

Today, my daughter and I went to the scrapbook store in Branson, MO.  It was nice; there was a LOT of stuff, from floor to ceiling basically.  (We haven't scrapped much lately because I am a full time student and it's hard to find time to squeeze it in.  But this summer I decided not to take any classes so we could have time to catch up on all the things that we have put off the past couple of years.)  We are used to Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart and places that we go to for other items that also have scrapbooking stuff.  So it was kinda overwhelming as to how much stuff there was to look at!  But she got some cute girly stuff and I got a couple of clear stamps and an acrylic block.  I have only ever used wooden stamps or foam so I am excited to see how I like the clear ones!  I saw a post somewhere from a fellow scrapbooker that Tuesday Morning has really good buys on scrapbooking supplies and there is one here in Branson, so I think we will head over there tomorrow!  I am really excited to get home and get back to some of my favorite hobbies that I haven't had time to do for a while!!!

My First Blog

I am on vacation with my family for a week and decided to create my very first blog!  My daughter and I are about to head out to visit the local scrapbook store and see what they offer.  Hope everyone has a blessed day!
